An attacker who exploits this can mount a crafted, unverified root filesystem, effectively running arbitrary or malicious code at the operating system level before any other defenses are active. This is especially serious in enterprise thin-client environments where IGEL OS is commonly deployed, as it can undermine the integrity of every device running it.
